18 SEPTEMBER 1970 Jimi Hendrix is found dead in his basement. He had taken nine pills of the barbiturate Vesparax, that along with alcohol, caused a fatal overdose.

September 18th 1952, Born on this day, Dee Dee Ramone (Douglas Colvin), bass, the Ramones, 1977 UK No.22 single 'Sheena Is A Punk Rocker'). He died of a drug overdose 5th June 2002. Dee Dee is buried at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Hollywood, California, not far from the cenotaph of his former Ramones' bandmate, Johnny Ramone.
