13th April 1945, Born on this day, American songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and record producer, Lowell George from Little Feat who had two Top 40 albums during the 70s. Their best-known songs are 'Dixie Chicken' and 'Sailin Shoes'. George was once a member of Frank Zappa's Mothers Of Invention. Lowell died from a heart attack on 29th June 1979.

April 10th 1962, The Beatles former bass player Stuart Sutcliff died, (original bassist for eighteen months - January 1960 - June 1961). Sutcliff had stayed in Hamburg Germany after leaving the group. He died of a brain haemorrhage in an ambulance on the way to hospital, aged 22.
