May 29th 1955, Born on this day, Mike Porcaro, bass, Toto, (1983 US No.1 & UK No.3 single ‘Africa’). won an Album of the Year Grammy for 1982’s Toto IV. Porcaro died on 15th March 2015 following a battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (Lou Gehrig’s Disease).

Brooker founded The Paramounts in 1962 with his guitarist friend Robin Trower and has also worked with Eric Clapton, Alan Parsons and Ringo Starr.
