11 APRIL 2017 J. Geils, guitarist and founding member of J. Geils Band, dies at age 71.

11th April 2014, American musician and songwriter Jesse Winchester died aged 69. To avoid the Vietnam War draft he moved to Canada in 1967, where he began his career as a solo artist. His best known songs include « Yankee Lady », « The Brand New Tennessee Waltz », « Mississippi, You’re on My Mind », « A Showman’s Life », and « Biloxi ».

April 10th 1962, The Beatles former bass player Stuart Sutcliff died, (original bassist for eighteen months – January 1960 – June 1961). Sutcliff had stayed in Hamburg Germany after leaving the group. He died of a brain haemorrhage in an ambulance on the way to hospital, aged 22.

They scored the 1980 UK No.9 single ‘Runaway Boys’, and the 1983 US No.3 single ‘Stray Cat Strut’. He later worked with his swing revival band, the Brian Setzer Orchestra.
