August 20th 1942, Born on this day, Isaac Hayes, singer, (1971 US No.1 & UK No.4 single, ‘Theme From Shaft’, 1998 UK No.2 single as Chef ‘Chocolate Salty Balls’). Hayes was found dead at his home on 10th Aug 2008, aged 65.

August 19th 1951, Born John Deacon, bass, Queen. He was the last to join the band and also the youngest, being only 19 years old. Deacon wrote a number of Queen’s hit singles, including ‘You’re My Best Friend’, ‘Spread Your Wings’, ‘I Want to Break Free’, and the band’s biggest selling single in the United States, ‘Another One Bites the Dust’.

He has also had other collaborations such as with Gary Moore, Hawkwind and Public Image Ltd.
