30th Sept 1947, Born on this day, Marc Bolan , guitarist, UK singer, songwriter, T Rex, (1971 UK No.1 single 'Hot Love', plus over 20 other UK Top 40 singles, 1972 US No.10 single Bang A Gong, (Get It On). Bolan was killed in a car accident on 16th September 1977.

September 30th 2011, American guitarist and songwriter Marv Tarplin died aged 70. He was best known as the guitarist for the Miracles from the 1950s through the early 1970s who co-wrote several of their biggest hits, including the 1965 Grammy Hall Of Fame inducted 'The Tracks of My Tears'. Tarplin also worked with Marvin Gaye, The Marvelettes and The Supremes.

Rich was billed as "the world's greatest drummer" and was known for his virtuoso technique, power, groove, and speed. Rich was born in Manhattan to Bess (née Skolnik) and Robert Rich, both vaudevillians. (/ˈbælɪn/, born Martyn Jerel Buchwald, January 30, 1942 – September 27, 2018) was an American singer, songwriter, and musician best known as the founder and one of the lead singers and songwriters of Jefferson Airplane and Jefferson Starship. In 1962, Buchwald changed his name to Marty Balin, and began recording with Challenge Records, releasing the singles "Nobody But You" and "I Specialize in Love". By 1964, Balin was leading a folk music quartet called The Town Criers. Balin died on September 27, 2018 at the age of 76. The cause of death was not released to the public.
