Today we remember the passing of the great John Ronald « Mitch » Mitchell (9 July 1947 – 12 November 2008) was an English drummer who was best known for his work in the Jimi Hendrix Experience. He was inducted into the Modern Drummer Hall of Fame in 2009.

James Michael « Jim » Peterik (born November 11, 1950) an American musician and songwriter. He is best known as the founder of the band Survivor, as vocalist and songwriter of « Vehicle » by the Ides of March, and as co-writer of the anthem « Eye of the Tiger », the theme from the motion picture Rocky III.

11th Nov 1972, The Allman Brothers Band bass player Berry Oakley was killed when his motorcycle hit a bus at the same intersection as former band member Duane Allman, who had died a year earlier. Oakley was 24 years old.
